The incident occurred late on Tuesday near the Korenovsk airfield in the Krasnodar region.

The pilots were conducting their planned training flight despite unfavorable weather conditions.

“The flight took place without ammunition. There are no marks of destruction on the ground. Both pilots were killed,” the Defense Ministry said.

The Ministry stated that a commission from the Russian Space Forces has been dispatched to the crash site in order to investigate and determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.

The Mi-28 helicopter, also known as the "Night Hunter," is a combat helicopter developed by the Soviet Union and later by Russia. It is designed primarily for anti-armor and anti-ground missions, as well as limited air-to-air combat. The helicopters are designed to operate at day and night in all weather conditions. (ILKHA)
