During that month, there was a 4.4% increase in hen egg production, but a slight 1.5% decrease in chicken meat production compared to the same period last year, according to Turkish Statistical Institute.
Additionally, the number of slaughtered chickens declined by 6.5%, and turkey meat production saw a decrease of 7.3%.
Looking at the January-March period, hen egg production experienced a 3.8% increase, while chicken meat production decreased by 2.5% compared to the same period in the previous year. Moreover, the number of slaughtered chickens decreased by 6.1%, and turkey meat production declined by 9.2%.
In terms of monthly changes, chicken meat production showed a significant increase of 13.5% in March compared to the previous month. This rise resulted in the production volume growing from 176,236 tons to 199,950 tons.
Similarly, hen egg production saw a 7% increase in March compared to the previous month, leading to an increase from 1,613,799,000 units to 1,726,837,000 units. (ILKHA)
