The voting procedure began on April 27 at customs checkpoints and foreign representative offices, with over 1.48 million voters already having exercised their right to vote as of Saturday.

Voters will be able to cast their ballots at overseas representations until May 9 and at customs until 5:00 p.m. local time on May 14.

To accommodate the significant turnout, the YSK has decided to increase the number of ballot boxes at 19 locations in Europe.

However, plans for ballot boxes in nine locations in Germany have been canceled.

The presidential ballot will include four candidates, including the incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while the parliamentary elections will witness the participation of 24 political parties and 151 independent candidates competing for seats in the 600-member Turkish parliament.

With a total of approximately 3.41 million eligible Turkish citizens residing abroad, voting is already underway in some countries. (ILKHA)
