Eight school teachers killed in targeted shootings in Pakistan's northwest tribal district

Eight school teachers were fatally shot in two separate targeted attacks in Pakistan's northwest tribal district adjacent to Afghanistan, as reported by the police.

Seven teachers were killed in the first incident when unknown gunmen entered the staff room of Teri Mengal High School in Upper Kurram and opened fire, while another teacher was shot dead in a separate ambush on Shalozan Road in Parachinar.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Following the shootings, an emergency has been declared in all health facilities in the district, and the Kohat Board exam for 9th and 10th grades has been postponed. (ILKHA)
