The attack was followed by a rocket fire from Gaza in response to the death of Khader Adnan, a Palestinian prisoner who had been on a 68-day hunger strike.

Adnan, a senior leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, had been in israeli custody for 86 days before being found unresponsive in his cell in Nitzan jail.

He was declared dead at the Shamir Medical Center after being transferred there from the jail.

Despite Adnan's deteriorating health condition, a zionist court had refused to release him on Sunday. (ILKHA)
