In his message, Yapıcıoğlu quoted a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that emphasizes the importance of promptly paying workers their wages.

“Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) said: Pay the worker his wages before his sweat has dried,” Yapıcıoğlu wrote.

He also stressed the significance of improving working conditions and providing fair compensation and rights to the dedicated workforce of Türkiye.

“As a member of a community that values the religious significance of earning a livelihood through halal means, I extend my warm congratulations to all workers on the occasion of May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day,” Yapıcıoğlu concluded.

International Labor Day, also known as May Day or International Workers' Day, is celebrated annually on May 1st. It is a day that honors the struggles and contributions of workers around the world. The origins of International Labor Day can be traced back to the late 19th century when workers in the United States and Europe began to demand better working conditions and fair treatment from their employers.

The first International Labor Day was celebrated on May 1, 1890, when workers in Europe organized a series of strikes and protests to demand an eight-hour workday. Since then, International Labor Day has been recognized as a public holiday in many countries around the world, and is marked by rallies, demonstrations, and other events to support workers' rights and to promote solidarity among workers.

The focus of International Labor Day varies from country to country, but it generally emphasizes the importance of fair wages, safe working conditions, and social protections for workers. It is also a time to remember the sacrifices and struggles of workers who have fought for better working conditions and to renew commitments to continue the struggle for social justice and labor rights.
