Turkish intelligence agency kills suspected leader of ISIS in Syria

The operation was conducted in Jindires, a zone in the northwest region of Afrin, and targeted an abandoned farm being used as an Islamic school.

The previous leader of the Islamic State group, Abu Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, was announced dead on November 30, and was replaced by Abu Hussein al-Qurashi.

Turkey has had troops deployed in northern Syria since 2020, and with the help of Syrian auxiliaries, controls entire zones in the region. (ILKHA)
