Molla Beşir Şimşek urges adherence to Prophet's teachings at Mawlid Al Nabi event

The event, which is taking place at Nevruz Park in the Bağlar district after a three-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, has the theme "Prophet Muhammad: The Most Beautiful Example."

Sheikh Munir A. Cevad recited the Holy Quran to begin the event, which was followed by the reading of Mawlidi Sharif, poetry created to pay tribute to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Later, Özlem Agency Artists performed hymns and marches.

Molla Beşir Şimşek, the Deputy Chairman of ITTIHADUL ULEMA, addressed the audience in Kurdish at the event and stated that humanity has brought destruction upon themselves in this world and the afterlife by disregarding divine revelation and abandoning the guidance of the prophets.

“Prophet Muhammad was sent by Allah to guide humanity and set an example for righteous living. Prior to his arrival, humanity was suffering from spiritual maladies, and the world was filled with evil and darkness. However, with the arrival of Prophet Muhammad, the age of ignorance was lifted, and the age of enlightenment began. The Bedouin Arab tribe, which had been deprived of spiritual values, gained dignity and honor due to the Prophet's teachings,” Şimşek said.

Quoting a verse from the Holy Quran that says ‘We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know’, Şimşek went on to say:

"Dear Muslims, we are facing numerous difficulties today due to our deviation from the guidance of the Prophet and the morals bestowed upon us by Allah. Our personal, family, social, and humanitarian issues are increasing, leading to conflicts and humiliation among fellow Muslims. We are far from the path of beauty, and spiritual diseases have taken hold of us. As we look for guidance and solutions, let us turn to Allah and heed His words: ‘Hold firmly to what has been revealed to you, for you are on the right path’. Since the right path is the path of Allah's Prophet, we say that our Prophet is the example of our life. Allah Almighty says in another verse: ‘Say, [O Muhammad]: If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.’ Guidance is to follow the Prophet. If we do not follow him, if we do not take him as an example, how will we find guidance? If we do not fulfill this, we cannot achieve our goal. Our Lord again says, "And indeed, you are of great moral character" and ‘We have sent you, [O Muhammad], as a mercy to the worlds.’ It is understood from these verses that if we want guidance, if we look for an example for our lives, our Lord shows our Prophet as the address."

Molla Beşir Şimşek emphasized that those who neglect the moral teachings of Prophet Muhammad are degraded and disgraced, adding: “The Muslim community has suffered from humiliation, internal conflicts, and a lack of devotion. Our present generation has drifted away from Islamic values, resulting in enmity among ourselves. Muslims are oppressed and imprisoned in various parts of the world, and our cynical attitudes have contributed to this state of affairs. However, we can find salvation by adhering to the teachings of our Prophet and his way of life. Only through belief and obedience can we overcome our troubles. May Allah grant us the Prophet's intercession in the hereafter as a reward for following his path today.” (ILKHA)
