Russia has declared 10 workers from the Norwegian embassy and the defence attache's office in Moscow as unwelcome on Russian territory, in response to Norway's expulsion of 15 Russian diplomats who were accused of espionage activities.

The Norwegian ambassador to Russia was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was given a note declaring 10 Norwegian representatives as 'persona non grata'.

Additionally, Norway was informed about the introduction of restrictions on the hiring of Russian citizens by Norwegian diplomatic missions.

Norway has accused Russian embassy employees of engaging in intelligence activities, including attempts to recruit informants, conduct radio intelligence, and purchase advanced technologies.

The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs has described Russia as the country's biggest threat in terms of intelligence activities. (ILKHA)
