He expressed his hopes that the Black Sea natural gas would benefit the country and its citizens.

Erdoğan thanked the former Energy Minister Berat Albayrak, Fatih Dönmez, TPAO Chairman, and his team for their contributions to the project's various phases, from seismic research to the integration of the gas into the national system.

In his speech, Erdoğan congratulated the citizens on Eid al-Fitr and highlighted that the commissioning of the Black Sea gas only 32 months after its discovery marked a successful conclusion to a challenging journey.

He noted that the Sakarya field's first phase would provide 10 million cubic meters of natural gas and would subsequently rise to 40 million cubic meters with additional wells.

Once the project reaches full capacity, it will meet nearly 30% of the country's total annual need and substantially reduce its foreign dependency on natural gas.

Erdoğan emphasized that the project would also make Filyos and Zonguldak an important energy, technology, and logistics base for the country. (ILKHA)
