Since the start of the year, the cholera outbreak in Nigeria has spread to 43 regions in 12 states, resulting in at least 79 deaths, according to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

Cholera is a bacterial infection that typically occurs after consuming contaminated food or water, causing acute diarrhea.

Although some individuals may experience mild symptoms or none at all, the disease can be severe and pose a significant risk to life. (ILKHA)
