Over 250,000 Muslim worshippers arrive at Al-Aqsa Mosque for Qadr Night

The worshippers congregated at the mosque, which is considered one of Islam's most sacred sites, close to the Dome of the Rock, where Muslims believe Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven.

Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, is believed to be the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad.

According to Islamic belief, this night falls on one of the odd-numbered nights during the last ten days of Ramadan, although the exact date is unknown, with many considering the 27th day of Ramadan to be the most likely.

The prayers were held amid heightened tensions between zionist regime and Palestine, following a series of zionist police attacks on Palestinians at Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site, and raids in the West Bank leading to a significant number of arrests. (ILKHA)
