“Search and rescue crews responded to Lake Hartridge, immediately east of the Winter Haven Regional Airport, after two small planes collided with each other around 2 p.m.,” the Winter Haven Police Department said.

“Polk County Sheriff's Office investigators are confirming that four people have been located who were in the two planes that crashed. All four are deceased,” Polk County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.

“All four located persons are the only occupants of the planes. It is no longer a search and rescue operation, but a recovery operation,” it added.

Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the crash, with the NTSB in charge of the investigation. (ILKHA)
