Erdoğan: We are determined to turn our cities into safe and peaceful living environments

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahçeli visited the earthquake-hit İslahiye district of Gaziantep.

Speaking in the quake-hit İslahiye district of Gaziantep, Erdoğan said: “With a new understanding, we are determined to turn our cities into safe and peaceful living environments.”

Following his inspections, Erdoğan delivered remarks at İslahiye Disaster Coordination Center.

“We produce solutions to citizens’ expectations, about accommodation in particular, while meeting their urgent needs,” Erdoğan noted, and added: “Within next two months, we are beginning the construction of 200 thousand houses across our country, 18,544 of them in Gaziantep. Also, we will build 70 thousand houses in our villages together with their stables and gardens, in accordance with the local color, and deliver them to their owners.”
