The organization has reached earthquake-affected people with urgently needed food assistance following the deadly earthquakes that struck along the border between Türkiye and Syria on February 6.
Speaking to Ilke News Agency regarding their humanitarian aid activities in earthquake-stricken areas, Abdurrahman Altun, the head of European Orphan Hand, said: As European Orphan Hand, we have come to Türkiye to help earthquake-affected people. We first went to Adiyaman to carry out humanitarian aid activities. Now we are in Malatya, one of the earthquake-stricken provinces in Türkiye. We have started to deliver hot meals to people here. The picture is heartbreaking in Malatya. The rubbles have not been removed yet. The pain still is so fresh. As a humanitarian aid organization, we struggle to fulfill our humanitarian responsibility toward those people who lost almost everything in the earthquake. Humanitarian aid is arriving in many parts of the world. These aids will and should continue.”
Altun noted that the earthquake victims struggling with cold weather are in dire need of tents and heaters to keep them warm and sheltered. (ILKHA)
