Türkiye’s Erdoğan thanks Kurdish leader for sympathies with earthquake victims

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani on Thursday.

During the call, Erdogan thanked President Barzani and Kurdistan Region for the sympathies they had shown to the people of Turkey and the families of the victims of the country’s powerful 7.8 earthquakes, according to a statement by Barzani Headquarters.

On Monday, Masoud Barzani offered his condolences to the families of the victims in Turkey and Syria, where more than 16,000 people have so far been killed by the devastating earthquake.

Kurdistan's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani sent 25 ambulances and 84 medical workers to the earthquake-hit areas in Turkey to help in the rescue efforts. (ILKHA)
