Hamas leader offers condolences to Türkiye and Syria over deadly earthquake

The head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has extended condolences to the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the President of Syria Bashar al-Assad over the deadly earthquake that hit the countries.

In letters penned to the presidents, the Hamas chief said that the Palestinian people have received the news about the earthquake with deep sorrow, and they "express their full solidarity with the Syrian and Turkish people."

The Hamas chairman has also sent messages of condolences to Palestinian citizen Abdul Karim abu Jalhoum, who had passed away along with his wife and children after the deadly quake that hit Türkiye.

He hoped that rescue teams would be able to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the devastating earthquake.

The top Hamas official prayed to Allah to shower their souls with mercy and wished the wounded a speedy recovery. (ILKHA)
