Ebubekir Şahin reelected as head of Türkiye’s broadcaster regulator

Ebubekir Şahin was re-elected as the president of the Radio and Television Supreme Council of Turkey (RTÜK) for the third time.

Due to the expiration of the two-year term of office of Şahin’s presidency, the election was held to elect the head of Turkey's media regulator.

Ebubekir Şahin was reelected as the Chairman of RTÜK for the third time while Orhan Karadaş became Şahin’s deputy.

Radio and Television Supreme Council, also known as RTÜK, is the Turkish state agency for monitoring, regulating, and sanctioning radio and television broadcasts.

RTÜK was founded in 1994 and is composed of nine members elected by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. (ILKHA)
