HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman İshak Sağlam and the party’s Secretary-General Şehzade Demir were also present at the meeting.
“Our talks will continue and we will share them with the public as the issues become clear. We have spoken to the President before. We discussed some issues. One of them was the election. We are not in an alliance at the moment. When it becomes clear, we will announce it through the press. The election date has not been announced yet. I think it will be announced in January or February. We will make a statement when the date of the election is announced. I can't tell you about other offers,” Yapıcıoğlu told reporters after the meeting.
During the Presidential elections in 2018, HÜDA PAR declared that it would not be a part of the AK Party-led electoral coalition. However, HÜDA PAR announced that it would support AK Party leader Erdogan in the presidential elections, which were held on the same day as the parliamentary elections.
Presidential elections are scheduled to take place in Turkey on 18 June 2023, as part of the 2023 general elections, alongside parliamentary elections. Voters will elect a new president for a term of five years. (ILKHA)
