Bodies of Palestinians who drowned off Tunisia arrive in Gaza

Hundreds of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip gathered at Rafah crossing to receive the bodies of 8 Palestinian migrants from Gaza who drowned off the coast of Tunisia after their boat sank in a bid to reach Europe.

The economic and humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip is getting worse day by day, pushing many Gazans to take great risks to reach Europe.

According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA)'s annual report for 2020, the unemployment rate reached 43.1 percent in the enclave.

Due to the zionist occupation regime's 15-year-long blockade, the people of Gaza do not have regular access to electricity, water fit for human consumption, or economic opportunities. (ILKHA)
