Germany arrests 25 suspects in plot to overthrow state

The group of far-right and ex-military figures plotted to storm the parliament building, the Reichstag, and seize power, according to German reports.

“At 2:00 p.m. today, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office will provide information on today's measures in connection with the arrests of 25 suspected members and supporters of a terrorist organization,” the Federal Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.

Reportedly, about 50 suspects plotted to overthrow the republic and replace it with a new state modelled on the Germany of 1871. (ILKHA)
