Türkiye: House sales decrease by 25.3 pct in October

In Türkiye, house sales decreased by 25.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 102 thousand 660, the country’s statistical agency said in a statement on Wednesday.

İstanbul had the highest share with 16.5% and 16 thousand 987 house sales. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 8 thousand 146 house sales and Antalya with 6 thousand 323 house sales with the share of 7.9% and 6.2% respectively.

The provinces with the lowest number of sales were Hakkari with 30, Ardahan with 42 and Bayburt with 69 house sales.

Houses sales increased by 6.7% in January-October 2022

In January-October period, house sales increased by 6.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became a million 159 thousand 853.

Mortgaged house sales became 13 thousand 268

In Türkiye, mortgaged house sales decreased by 52.7% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 13 thousand 268. Mortgaged house sales had 12.9% share of all house sales.

In January-October period, mortgaged house sales increased by 15.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 241 thousand 869.

4 thousand 260 of mortgaged house sales in October and 65 thousand 37 of mortgaged house sales in January-October period were first hand sales.

Other house sales became 89 thousand 392

In Türkiye, other house sales decreased by 18.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 89 thousand 392. Other house sales had 87.1% share of all house sales. In January-October period, other house sales increased by 4.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 917 thousand 984.

32 thousand 692 houses were sold for the first time

In Türkiye, first time house sales decreased by 22.0% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 32 thousand 692. First time sales had 31.8% share of all house sales in Türkiye. In January-October period, first time house sales increased by 4.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 344 thousand 810.

Second-hand house sales became 69 thousand 968

In Türkiye, second-hand house sales decreased by 26.7% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 69 thousand 968. Second-hand sales had 68.2% share of all house sales in Türkiye. In January-October period, second-hand house sales increased by 7.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 815 thousand 43.

In October, 5 thousand 377 houses were sold to foreigners
