7th Islamic scholars meeting kicking off in Diyarbakır

ITTIHADUL ULEMA (the Union of Islamic Scholars and Madrasahs) will hold the 7th Islamic Scholars Meeting on September 15-16.

With the participation of many prominent Islamic scholars, the seventh edition of “Islamic Scholars Meeting” will be held at the headquarters of ITTIHADUL ULEMA in Türkiye’s southeastern Diyarbakır.

The event will start at 10:00 with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

After the opening address by Mullah Enver Kılıçarslan, the chairman of ITTIHADUL ULEMA (the Union of Islamic Scholars and Madrasahs), Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as many scholars from Turkey and across Islamic world will deliver speeches at the meeting.

The meeting, which has been held in October every year since 2015, is held with the participation of distinguished Islamic scholars from Muslim countries, especially from the Kurdish regions.

The event will also be broadcast live on Rehber TV and social media platforms.

Speaking to Ilke News Agency regarding the event, Mehmet Özer, the Secretary General of ITTIHADUL ULEMA, said that the meeting will be held this year with theme of “The Role of Ulema (Islamic scholars) in the Development and the Progress of Ummah with Science and Thought”.

“The main goal of the meetings that we have been holding for 7 years is to bring together scholars from across the world, especially Kurdish-majority regions, to find solutions to the existing problems in the Islamic world and to play a leading role in the progress of Ummah,” Özer noted. (ILKHA)
