Indian Navy's MiG 29-K fighter jet crashes over sea off Goa coast

A MiG 29K fighter jet of the Indian Navy crashed off the Goa coast on Wednesday morning.

“A MiG 29K on a routine sortie over sea off Goa developed a technical malfunction while returning to base. The pilot ejected safely & has been recovered in a swift SAR ops. Pilot reported to be in stable condition. BoI ordered to investigate the cause of the incident,” the spokesperson of the Indian Navy in a statement on Twitter.

The Mikoyan MiG-29K is a Russian all-weather carrier-based multirole fighter aircraft developed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau. The MiG-29K was developed in the late 1980s from the MiG-29M. Mikoyan describes it as a 4+ generation aircraft. (ILKHA)
