Magnitude-5.4 earthquake strikes Iran’s Hormozgan province

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 54 km (33 miles) north-northwest of Bandar Abbas, Iranian Seismological Center said.

The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles), and was felt near the epicenter and across parts of Hormozgan, southeastern Fars, and southwestern Kerman provinces in Iran, far northeastern parts of the UAE, and the Musandam Peninsula in Oman.

There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake. (ILKHA)
