A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit central Chile

The quake hit at a depth of 80 km beneath the epicenter near Tocopilla, Antofagasta, Chile, after midnight on Thursday at 12:15 am local time.

The country’s emergency service agency Onemi said that there were no initial reports of damage. The navy said there was no risk of a tsunami. (ILKHA)
