The ongoing operations against PKK/PYD members will be assessed in the meeting.

The steps to be taken against the provocative steps of the Greek administration as well as the recent developments in Afghanistan, Libya, and the Eastern Mediterranean will also be on the agenda.

The council will also discuss the issue of Finland and Sweden’s applications to join NATO.

The National Security Council (MGK) is the principal government agency used by the President of Turkey, the Commander-in-chief, to consider national security, military, and foreign policy matters with senior national security officials and coordinate these policies among various government agencies.

Like the national security councils of other countries, the MGK develops the national security policy. (ILKHA)
