Turkish President Erdoğan to visit Iran

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay an official visit to Iran on July 18-19, 2022 at the invitation of President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi of Iran.

Erdoğan and Raisi of Iran will co-chair the 7th Meeting of the Türkiye-Iran High-Level Cooperation Council in Tehran on July 19, 2022.

“All aspects of the Türkiye-Iran relations and potential steps that would enhance the bilateral cooperation will be discussed during the Council Meeting, which will be held with the participation of relevant ministers,” the Turkish presidency said.

Besides the bilateral relations, views on regional and global matters will be exchanged at the talks.

On the same day, Erdoğan will attend the 7th Trilateral Summit Meeting in Astana Format to be hosted in Tehran by President Raisi of Iran with the participation of President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

The recent developments in Syria, the fight against the terrorist organizations, particularly PKK/YPG and DAESH, which pose a threat to regional security, efforts aimed at a political resolution, the humanitarian situation, and the voluntarily return of the Syrians to their homes will be on the agenda of the Summit.

Erdoğan will hold a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart on the sidelines of the Summit. (ILKHA)
