Turkey: New registered vehicles rise by 21.4% in April

In April, 118 thousand 974 road motor vehicle registrations were recorded, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Tuesday.

Regarding the vehicle registrations in April, cars accounted for 43.6%, followed by motorcycles 36.7%, small trucks 11.3%, tractors 5.1%, trucks 2.4%, buses 0.5%, minibuses 0.3% and special purpose vehicles 0.1%.  

The number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 21.4% compared with the previous month

In April, compared with the previous month, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 73.4%, 13.2%, 4.1%, 3.0%, 2.0% for motorcycles, tractors, cars, buses and small trucks while it decreased by 32.0% and 11.8% for minibuses and trucks respectively. For special purpose vehicles there was no change.

The number of road motor vehicles registered increased by 16.1% compared with the same month of the previous year

In April, compared with the same month of the previous year, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 94.3% 12.6%, 9.1% and 0.2%, for motorcycles, buses, special purpose vehicles and trucks while it decreased by 55.8%, 6.8% 3.0% and 1.3% for minibuses, cars, small trucks and tractors respectively.

At the end of April, the total number of road motor vehicles registered reached 25 million 594 thousand 663

At the end of April, cars represented 54.2%, small trucks 16.3%, motorcycles 15.0%, tractors 8.0%, trucks 3.5%, minibuses 1.9%, buses 0.8% and special purpose vehicles 0.3% of total number of road motor vehicles registered.

888 thousand 543 road motor vehicles handed over in April

Among vehicles handed over, in April, cars accounted for 68.1% followed by small trucks 15.5%, motorcycles 8.5%, tractors 3.1%, trucks 2.4%, minibuses 1.7%, buses 0.5% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%.

In April, 51 thousand 926 cars were registered to the traffic

In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the new registered cars in April, Renault recorded 19.1%, Volkswagen 11.0%, Fiat 9.8%, Toyota 8.3%, Hyundai 6.7%, Dacia 5.8%, Honda 4.9%, Citroen 4.3%, Opel 4.0%, Peugeot 3.4%, Skoda 3.0%, Kia 2.9%, Audi 2.2%, BMW 2.1%, Ford 2.1%, Mercedes-Benz 2.1%, Nissan 1.9%, Seat 1.2%, Volvo 0.9%, Cupra 0.6% and the other trademarks 3.6% of the total.       

In the period of January-April 359 thousand 344 road motor vehicles were registered

In January-April period, compared to the same period of previous year, the number of registered vehicles decreased by 15.7% and became 359 thousand 344 while the number of withdrawn road motor vehicles decreased by 10.8% and became 13 thousand 443. Hence, in the period of January-April the increase in motor vehicles registered became 345 thousand 901.

In the period of January-April the ratio of cars registered using gasoline was 69.8%

Among 178 thousand 47 cars registered in the period of January-April, the share of gasoline-fuelled cars was 69.8% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 17.0%, electric or hybrid cars with 10.7% and LPG-fuelled cars with 2.5%. At the end of April, among 13 million 882 thousand 587 registered cars, the share of diesel-fuelled cars was 37.4% followed by LPG-fuelled cars with 35.6% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 26.0%. The share of electric or hybrid cars was 0.8% and the cars with unknown fuel type was 0.3%.

Most frequent engine size was 1300 or less for registered cars in January-April period

Within 178 thousand 47 cars registered to traffic in January-April period, 34.3% had 1300 or less, 27.2% had 1401-1500, 22.6% had 1301-1400, 7.5% had 1501-1600, 6.6% had 1601-2000, 0.7% had 2001 and above engine size.  

In January-April period 72 thousand 54 of cars registered were white

Within 178 thousand 47 cars registered to traffic in January-April period, 40.5% of them were white, 28.1% were grey, 11.2% were blue, 7.8% were red, 7.0% were black, 2.7% were orange, 1.3% were green, 0.8% were brown and 0.6% were yellow. (ILKHA)
