“I call for a proper, transparent, and swift investigation into this incident and for those responsible to be brought to justice,” said Fahrettin Altun, the Presidency’s Director of Communications.

Altun condemned the killing of Palestinian journalist Akleh by fire from Israeli soldiers while covering the raid by zionist forces in Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

Stating that he is deeply saddened by the news of Aqla’s killing, Altun offered his condolences to her family and colleagues and noted: “It is unacceptable for journalists, who serve the public and the truth, to be targeted under any circumstances. I call for a proper, transparent, and swift investigation into this incident and for those responsible to be brought to justice.” (ILKHA)
