Orhan Turan elected as new president of Turkish business body TÜSİAD

The 52nd Ordinary General Assembly meeting of TÜSİAD was held on Tuesday in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, serving as the country's economic, cultural and historic hub.

Orhan Turan was elected as the new president of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) in the meeting.

TÜSİAD is a voluntary-based civil society organization established by Turkish industrialists and businessmen in 1971 in order to represent the business world.

TÜSİAD represents more than 4,000 member companies which represent half of Turkey's value-added; 80% of Turkey’s total foreign trade volume; more than 50% of private-sector employment; and 80% of corporate tax revenue.

TÜSİAD is composed of CEOs and executives from major industrial and services companies in Turkey, including Fortune 500 companies. (ILKHA)
