Turkey: Agricultural input price index rises by 57.26% annually

Agricultural input price index increased by 57.26% annually and 10.12% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.

Agriculture-IPI (2015=100) increased by 10.12% compared to previous month, increased by 10.12% compared to December of the previous year, increased by 57.26% compared to same month of the previous year and increased by 31.35% compared to twelve months moving averages, in January 2022.

Monthly changes by main groups, goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 6.99% and goods and services currently consumed in agricultural index increased by 10.57%. The goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 36.10% and the goods and services currently consumed in agricultural index increased by 60.78% compared to same month of the previous year.

Compared to general Agricultural-IPI, lower annual change observed in 6 subgroups while 5 subgroups were higher

Subgroups that indicated low increase were seeds and planting stock with 9.40% and materials with 16.34%. On the other hand, fertilizer and soil improvers with 153.34% and energy; lubricants with 101.14% were the subgroups that high annual increase realized.

Compared to general Agricultural-IPI, lower monthly change observed in 5 subgroups while 6 subgroups were higher

Materials with 2.42% and animal feedingstuffs with 4.06% were subgroups that indicated low monthly increase. On the other hand, energy; lubricants with 37.91% and maintenance of buildings with 17.06% were the subgroups which high monthly increase realized. Seeds and planting stock with 8.41% was the only subgroup that monthly decrease observed. (ILKHA)
