US journalist Brent Renaud killed in Ukraine

Renaud was killed in Irpin, a suburb that has been the site of intense shelling by Russian forces in recent days, according to the Ukrainian authorities.

Ukrainian officials said another journalist was wounded as well.

It was the first reported death of a foreign journalist in the war in Ukraine.

Brent Renaud was an American journalist, writer, documentary filmmaker, and photojournalist. Renaud worked with his brother Craig to produce films for outlets such as HBO and Vice News, and he was a former contributor to The New York Times. (ILKHA)
