Police seize 140 kilograms of heroin in southeastern Turkey

Turkish police captured the illegal drug in 261 packages in a vehicle during a routine inspection on Diyarbakır-Silvan highway.

The suspects will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.

Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
