At least 9 dead after boat carrying migrants sinks off Tunisia

Tunisia's Defense Ministry said that the bodies were recovered by the country's coast guards and nine other migrants, including some in critical condition, were rescued by the navy.

According to the statistics from the U.N. refugee agency, the UNHCR, and the International Organization for Migration, at least 1,300 migrants drowned or went missing in the Mediterranean Sea in 2021. (ILKHA)
