Afghan boy trapped in a well has died, local sources say

Anas Haqqani, a prominent member of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, who went to Zabul province to supervise the rescue operation of the child, announced on his Twitter account that the child had died.

Haqqani expressed his condolences to the family of slain Haider.

The nine-year-old boy, identified as Haidar, has been trapped down a 33ft well for the past three days at Shokok village, in the Zabul province, Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
