Speaking at the United Arab Emirates-Türkiye Economic Forum, Erdoğan said: “Our shared goal with the UAE is to elevate our bilateral relations to much higher levels in all areas. The documents signed yesterday in a wide range of areas, from industry, advanced technology and transportation to healthcare, agriculture and mutual investments have shown our desire to cooperate in line with this goal.”

“UAE is Türkiye’s main trade partner in the gulf region”

Underscoring that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was Türkiye’s main trade partner in the Gulf region, Erdoğan noted that even during the period in which there had been a hiatus in bilateral relations, the trade relations had maintained their volume, and said: “Our shared goal with the UAE is now to elevate our bilateral relations to much higher levels in all areas. The documents signed yesterday in a wide range of areas, from industry, advanced technology and transportation to healthcare, agriculture and mutual investments have shown our desire to cooperate in line with this goal.”

“Türkiye offers significant advantages to investors in search of alternatives to Asia-centered production networks”

Stating that Türkiye stood out with its 85-million population, increasing industrial production, qualified labor force capacity, physical infrastructure and geographical location, Erdoğan continued as follows: “We have successfully managed the pandemic thanks to our political stability, fast decision-making mechanisms and an administrative understanding which encourages production and employment. We achieved a growth rate of 1.8% in 2020 when the global economy shrank by 3.4%. We were one of the G20 countries whose industry production increased the most in the same period.”

“The pandemic, which has shaken the global balances, has opened new windows of opportunity before such countries as Türkiye with high production capacity. Türkiye offers very significant advantages to investors who are particularly in search of alternatives to Asia-centered production networks,” Erdoğan said. (ILKHA)
