Milk production rises by 1.6% in December-- TurkStat

Milk collected by integrated dairies was 799 thousand 398 tons, the Türkiye’s statistical agency (TurkStat) said.

The amount of collected cow's milk in December increased by 1.6% when compared to the same month of the previous year.

In January-December period increased by 2.1% when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In December, the average fat content of cow's milk collected by integrated dairies was 3.5%, the average protein content was 3.2%.

In December, drinking milk production by integrated dairies decreased by 10.2% and became 126 thousand 633 tonnes when compared to the same month of the previous year.

In January-December period, drinking milk production decreased by 5.6% and became 1 million 523 thousand 175 tonnes when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In December, yoghurt production by integrated dairies decreased by 2.4% and became 87 thousand 718 tonnes when compared to the same month of the previous year.

In January-December period, increased by 1.1% and became 1 million 125 thousand 958 tonnes when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In December, while skimmed milk powder production increased by 79.6%, whole milk powder production increased by 50.8%, drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increased by 41.9% and butter production increased by 23.9%; cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 5%, cream production decreased by 16.5% and mixed milk cheese (cheese made from sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) production decreased by 18%, when compared to the same month of the previous year. 

According to the January-December period of the previous year, while skimmed milk powder production increased by 23.9%, drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increased by 22%, whole milk powder production increased by 15.9%, butter production increased by 7.9%, mixed milk cheese (cheese made from sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) production increasing by 1.3%; cream production decreased by 0.8%, cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 0.5%.
