Overall export unit value index rises by 9.7% in November: TurkStat

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 9.7% in November, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said.

In the same month, compared to November 2020, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 7.5%, 20.1%, 83.1% and 7.3%, respectively.

The overall export volume index increased by 21.8%

The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 21.8% in November. Compared with November 2020, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 20.4%, 18.0%, 34.4% and 17.3%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index increased by 29.3%

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 29.3% in November. The index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 19.6%, 46.9%, 137.4% and 15.6%, respectively.

The overall import volume index decreased by 1.5%

In November, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 1.5%. The index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 14.6%, 6.9%, 9.6% and 5.1%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 0.5%

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 150.1 in October 2021, increased by 0.5%, to 150.8 in November 2021. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 135.0 in November 2020, increased by 17.0%, to 157.9 in November 2021.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index increased by 11.0%

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 101.4 in October 2021, increased by 11.0%, to 112.5 in November 2021. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 120.5 in November 2020, decreased by 4.7%, to 114.9 in November 2021.

Terms of trade was 81.6 in November 2021

Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade was 96.2 in November 2020, it decreased by 14.6 points to 81.6 in November 2021. (ILKHA)
