Police seize 15 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey

The drug was seized in the fuel tank of a vehicle which was stopped and searched by security forces following an anonymous tip, the Van Police Department said in a statement.

The suspected drug dealer will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.

Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
