According to local sources, police forces intensively fired stun grenades at the participants in the sit-in, assaulted them and arrested three of them, including a woman.

The police also assaulted local residents in Sheikh Jarrah and threatened to displace the family of Salem from their home if the participants in the sit-in did not leave a piece of land belonging to this family.

The participants carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against the occupation and in support of Jerusalem and its neighborhoods.

In a separate incident, police officers later in the evening kidnaped two Jerusalemite young men after brutally assaulting them in al-Wad street in the Old City.

Video footage circulated on social media showed police officers attacking Shadi Abu Snaina and Mohamed Abu Hadwan and violently subduing them, with no reason.

The young men were handcuffed and hauled to a police station in the holy city. (ILKHA)
