Heavy snowfall blocks 736 village roads in eastern Turkey

At least 736 roads were shut down to motor vehicle traffic due to heavy snowfall in the region which has seen freezing temperatures in recent days.

Snow removal crews are working hard to reopen roads to traffic, officials said.

Provinces affected by heavy snowfall and school shutdowns include Ağrı, Erzurum, Kars, Ardahan, Tunceli, Iğdır and Erzincan. (ILKHA)
