“At Meta, we remove content from individuals or organizations that violates our Community Standards, no matter who they are,” spokeswoman Emily Cain for Facebook's parent company, Meta, said.

In the now-deleted post, Abiy urged citizens to mobilize by holding any weapon or capacity.

“The obligation to die for Ethiopia belongs to all of us,” Abiy said.

The Ethiopian government declared a national state of emergency this week after Tigray forces took control of key cities over the weekend.

Tigray War began just before midnight on 3 November 2020 in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia.

At least 10,000 people have died, and war rape has become a “daily” occurrence, according to human rights groups. (ILKHA)
