Thousands of anti-government protesters take to streets in El Salvador

In June, the Bitcoin Law was passed by the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador, giving the cryptocurrency bitcoin the status of legal tender within El Salvador after September 7th. It was proposed by President Nayib Bukele.

The demonstrators wore T-shirts that read “NO To Bitcoin” to show their displeasure with the legislation. (ILKHA)
