36 irregular migrants rescued off Turkey's Aegean coast

36 irregular migrants were rescued from a boat off the coast of the Marmaris district of Turkey’s southwestern Muğla province, Turkish Coast Guard Command said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the boat carrying irregular migrants was pushed back to Turkish territorial waters by Greek Coast Guard forces.

Turkey has traditionally been a major transit port for irregular immigrants to enter European countries.
