23 irregular migrants rescued off Turkey's Aegean coast

23 irregular migrants were rescued from a boat off the coast of the Kuşadası district of Turkey’s northwestern Aydın province, Turkish Coast Guard Command announced in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the boat carrying 23 irregular migrants was pushed back to Turkish territorial waters by Greek Coast Guard forces.

Turkey has traditionally been a major transit port for irregular immigrants to enter European countries.
