Turkey’s employment index rises by 15.7% annually

Employment index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 15.7% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 14.9%, construction sector increased by 36.9% and trade-services sector increased by 12.6%.

Hours worked index increased by 46.0% annually

Hours worked index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased 46.0% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 51.2%, construction sector increased by 57.5% and trade-services sector increased by 40.5%.

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 52.9% annually

Gross wages-salaries index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 52.9% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 59.1%, construction sector increased by 59.9% and trade-services sector increased by 47.7%.

Employment index increased by 3.4% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 3.1%, construction sector increased by 4.6% and trade-services sector increased by 3.4%.

Hours worked index increased by 2.7% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 2.0%, construction sector increased by 5.0% and trade-services sector increased by 2.7%.

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 7.5% quarterly

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 7.5% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 8.0%, construction sector increased by 7.3% and trade-services sector increased by 7.0%.

Hourly labour cost index increased by 4.5% annually

Hourly labour cost index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 4.5% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 4.9%, construction sector increased by 1.7% and trade-services sector increased by 5.0%.

Hourly earnings index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 4.7% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 5.2%, construction sector increased by 1.5% and trade-services sector increased by 5.1%.

Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index including industry, construction, trade and services sectors increased 3.4% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 3.0%, construction sector increased by 2.4% and trade-services sector increased by 4.1%.
