Fesih Güler, who was subjected to heavy tortures and inhumane treatment during the 28 February post-modern coup and was imprisoned for years as a result of a FETO conspiracy, died on August 18 in a private hospital where he was being treated for coronavirus pandemic.
Fesih Güler’s son, Hüseyin Güler, spoke to Ilke News Agency about his father’s outstanding personality.
“My father was indeed as gentle as a dove, however, when we made mistakes, he would be a bit harsh for us to correct our mistakes. He attached great importance to prayers. Prayer was an indispensable element in his life. He never missed his prayer even on his deathbed. When we were at home, he used to wake us up for morning prayer and make us pray with the congregation, he would not compromise,” Güler said.

“He would attach great importance to Islamic knowledge, learning, and education. He was keen on the recitation of the Holy Quran. He used to read the Qur'an in a regular manner every day and urge us to do so.”
Güler went on to say: “After I finished my madrasa education, my father sent me to Jordan to study Islamic sciences. Because of his Islamic sensibility, he wanted us to devote ourselves to Allah in all aspects. I admired the way he worshipped. As soon as the adhan was recited, he immediately began to pray.”
“My father left us his Islamic cause as a legacy, and we will devote our lives to his cause”
He said that his father was very compassionate to his children at home, adding: “We were bored when we stayed home, but we were never bored when my father was home. My father always cheered us at home because he had a great sense of humor. There was a holiday atmosphere at home when my father came. My father left us his Islamic cause as a legacy, and we will devote our lives to his cause.” (ILKHA)
