Russian military aircraft crashes during a test flight near Moscow

Russian Ilyushin IL-112V military transport aircraft caught fire and fell in the forest nearby with three people on board on Tuesday, local sources reported.

“During a training flight, an Il-112B light military transport aircraft crashed while landing near the Kubinka airfield in a forest belt. Details of the incident are being investigated. A commission will be established to find out the causes of the accident,” the aircraft's manufacturer United Aircraft Corporation said in a statement posted on Twitter.

The company did not say if there were any casualties.

Video posted on social media captured the moment the aircraft burst into flames and crashed.

The Ilyushin Il-112 is a high-wing light military transport aircraft being developed by Ilyushin Aviation Complex (JSC IL) for air landing and airdrop of military air cargoes, equipment and personnel. The aircraft is being manufactured by Voronezh Aircraft Production Association in Voronezh. (ILKHA)
