In his weekly statement on the external agenda, the leader of HUDA PAR, İshak Sağlam, discussed the Mavi Marmara attack carried out by the occupation regime in international waters 11 years ago, China's persecution of the Uighurs and the reconstruction of Gaza.

Reminding that it has been 11 years since the Mavi Marmara fleet, which was trying to break the embargo of the occupation regime on Gaza with ships full of food supplies, was attacked in international waters, Sağlam said: “On this occasion, we commemorate our martyrs with mercy once again on the Mavi Marmara ship. The banditry committed by the occupation regime, which carried out a massacre in international waters, is stayed in the snow for now.”

Criticizing Turkey's stance during the Mavi Marmara trial, Sağlam said: “Turkey took the necessary steps in terms of both domestic and international law, and was instrumental in the prosecution of Zionist killers and was appreciated. However, he took an opposite attitude and made an unacceptable strategy change. Despite the 10 citizens who were murdered, the massacre of the occupation gang was tried to be forgotten with 'blood money' with an agreement that was reflected to the public as the 'Mavi Marmara Agreement'. At the same time, the legal process initiated against the occupation gang was ended and the Mavi Marmara case was dropped. This situation deeply hurts all the Muslims of the world, especially the families of martyrs and wounded.”

Emphasizing that Turkey should abandon this change of attitude, which cannot be explained with any political and economic benefit, and condemn the banditry of the occupation regime, Sağlam said: “ Turkey must fight for the Palestinians who are exposed to the attacks of the occupation gang every day, especially for the rights of its citizens who were martyred in the Mavi Marmara, and must ensure that the occupation gang is held accountable for the crimes against humanity and massacres. Turkey should not be involved in any formal or informal process that will allow the murderous Zionists to gain strength and legitimacy.”

Emphasizing that the wounds should be healed by starting a mobilization for the reconstruction and protection of Gaza, Sağlam stated that the balance sheet of the occupation regime's 11-day bombardment of Gaza has been revealed and that even the roads leading to the hospital were bombed with great destruction in the images that came, and agricultural areas were burned.

Sharing the balance sheet of the destruction in Gaza within the framework of the images and the information obtained, Sağlam said:

“A large wreckage image was reflected from Gaza. According to the statements of the authorities in Gaza, together with the UN Palestine Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator's calls for explanation and assistance, the destruction is frightening. While 254 Palestinians, including 66 children and 39 women, were martyred in the bombardment, 1,948 people were injured. 1,800 houses were completely destroyed. 16,800 houses, 66 schools, 6 hospitals, 11 health centers were damaged. 74 government buildings, more than 300 economic, industrial and commercial facilities were bombed. It was determined that there was a total of 350 million dollars in property damage. The demolition has prevented 800,000 people from having permanent access to tap water. Fuel shortages and damage to the electricity grid have reduced access to electricity across Gaza to an average of 4 to 6 hours a day.”

Sağlam said: “It is not possible for Gaza, which has been under an embargo and blockade for years, to cope with this destruction alone. This damage must be compensated by the occupation regime. International institutions and organizations and Islamic countries should not leave Gaza at the mercy of the occupation regime and should not leave it alone with this destruction and pain. The blockade and embargo should be lifted immediately, the Refah Border Gate should be opened and all necessary aid should be delivered. The wounds should be healed by starting a mobilization for the reconstruction and preservation of Gaza.” (ILKHA)
